In October 2007, Health Canada announced the appointment of a Sodium Working Group, which includes representatives of government, the scientific community, health charities and manufacturing and food service industries to develop initiatives for reducing the overall consumption of dietary sodium.

You can help by:

  • Purchasing low-sodium products
  • Asking stores to stock them
  • Writing or calling food companies
  • Asking for information on sodium content of restaurant meals.
